The Economic Club of Florida presents Gregory Haile The New Arsenal: Talent, Opportunity, and Technology as Pillars of National SecurityPlease join The Economic Club of Florida for our monthly distinguished speaker luncheon featuring the Gregory Haile, Chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. He is an equity partner at the Strategos Group, and founder of the Higher Ed and Workforce Advisory practice. There he helps the most innovative companies with go to market strategies in the higher education and workforce development spaces. He is also a senior fellow at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government at the Harvard Kennedy School, where he leads research and policy development at the intersection of three key elements of American national security: workforce needs, economic mobility, and artificial intelligence. He also serves as the Chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. He is the first educator to serve as Chair of the Atlanta Fed in 70 years. He previously chaired the Bank’s Audit and Operational Risk Committee. Haile recently served on the U.S.- EU Talent for Growth Task Force; Co-chaired by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce and the U.S. Secretary of State, the task force brought together 6 American leaders from business, labor, and education to collaborate with counterparts from the European Union to build on existing initiatives from both sides of the Atlantic and to exchange best practices, serving as a catalyst for advancing human capital. Haile previously served as the president of Broward College, with nearly 55,000 students and 4000 employees. While President, he was recognized as one of the top five community college CEOs in the nation by the American Association of Community Colleges (the only Florida president to ever achieve this recognition), and he led the college to a top ten ranking (from more than 1000 colleges) by the Aspen Institute at every eligible year under his tenure. His leadership garnered the largest grant ($30 million) and the largest gift ($30 million) in the College's history. Haile has 20+ years of board experience, has chaired 15+ boards, and is currently on the boards of BBX Capital, the Everglades Foundation, and Poetry in America, and is the former chair of global anti-human trafficking NGO Free the Slaves and Leadership Florida. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and YPO, has won over 50 awards, and has been recognized amongst Florida's 500 Most Influential Business Leaders in Florida Trend.
